Production and previews

Follow progress and test your project without confusing a preview with publication.

When production starts

The team checks documents, payments, preparation and scheduling before starting work. Production shows the available status. You do not need to repeat completed steps to prompt a start.

The team deploys previews manually and adds their URL to the project. Updates can use the same address: a new revision does not require a new subdomain. A dashboard version identifies a workflow milestone, not an immutable copy of the external website.

Test methodically

Open the preview and check navigation, text, images and behaviour on a phone and computer.

  1. Read the note accompanying the version.
  2. Follow a visitor’s main tasks.
  3. Record the page, language, device and expected result.
  4. Collect changes in the open revision round.

Test SHOP without unintended purchases

Ask which integrations are in test mode before using checkout, forms or payments. A preview link does not guarantee that external services are simulated. Do not enter real card details or place orders unless the test has been agreed.

If the link fails or looks outdated

Check access instructions and refresh only after saving any pending input. Send the team the URL, time and a screenshot. Do not change DNS or Shopify settings yourself to fix an unavailable preview.
